Walking With God Through the School Year ~

I know full well the days of never-ending homework, when papers are due in almost all your courses and you’re trying to cram in studying for a test on top of it all. I know those nights where you are working on a project till your eyes hurt and your brain feels dead, and the thought in the back of your mind is that in a few hours you’ll have to do it all over again.

School can be time-consuming; you can feel so spread thin by your coursework that it is hard to focus on much else. Our Bible can easily get lost under the piles of paper and our minds so full of information, we forget to pray. During the school year we can drift away from God. But the good news is that we don’t have to!

So, what are we to do when we feel overwhelmed? How are we to continue to thrive in our relationship with God and do well academically? Something my mom has instilled in me is that though seasons of life differ, and some are busier than others we must keep God first. We do this by prioritizing the Word and prayer. It’s about having God be at the forefront of our thoughts, remembering to honor Him with our words, and glorifying Him with our actions.

When you are going to take an exam or just been handed a pop quiz, take a moment to ask God for help even if you feel prepared. When you are going to give a speech in front of your class pray for confidence and peace. When you received an “A” that you worked hard for thank Him for giving you understanding and favor. These are just a few examples of how we include God in our school day.

Our walk with God should be of greatest importance no matter the season. If your school day begins early and ends late, don’t shortchange God or your time with Him. Listen to audio Bible while getting ready or on the way to school, if you like to do homework with music playing then put on worship, and as we already said take time to pray all throughout the day. This is how we can walk with God even with a demanding school schedule.

God bless you! <3

really good reminder to keep God in the center of all we do and to give Him time through the craziness of life!
