It’s Okay Being Different ~

“If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John 15:19

“The person who follows the crowd will usually go no further than the crowd. The person who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever seen before.” - Albert Einstein

We’ve all felt the pressure of trying to fit in. Why? Because of two main things: 1- the thought of being alone or different scares us and 2- we tend to want to please others. But we aren’t called to live our lives pleasing others or trying to fit in with the world. The Bible tells us that we are to serve the Lord and to shine brightly in this dark world. We are called to be different.

If we are honest with ourselves, being different can be a lonely place. We can be misunderstood, shunned, and made fun of for being different. However, history proves that those who were often labeled “different”, “old-ball”, “weird”, or “nerd” ended up making a big impact in our world. And those who stood outside of culture’s norms ended up paving the way for future generations.

When we aren’t focused on trying to appease others or fit in, we can focus on making an impact for the Lord. When we don’t define ourselves by what others think of us, we can pursue God’s call on our life without any reservation. God has a purpose for you, and He designed you with that purpose in mind. He has made you unique in order for you to have an impact others. Don’t miss the opportunity to use your unique qualities, character, and personality for God’s glory.

God bless you! <3
