The “uncaring” pro-life advocate. The “bigot” Christian who only agrees with heterosexual marriages. The “old-fashioned” prude person who doesn’t agree with pre-marital sex.
These are some of the descriptions used for people (Christian or not) that stand for biblical morality, godly virtues, and truth. Those who stand up against sin are considered intolerant and hateful. We, in America, are being stripped of our right to speak freely under the cloak of tolerance. For some the pressure is crippling and soon they are following the crowd. Others become prideful and self-righteous. How are we to stand up for godliness and extend love to those actively participating in a sinful lifestyle?
Jesus never shied from telling someone that what they were doing was wrong, but He did it motivated by truth and love not superiority, though He, being God, is. He never spoke with a chip on His shoulder or in an unfeeling manner. In fact, Jesus’ purpose in coming down was to warn us about the destructive nature of our sin and show us that He is the only Savior who can save us.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:16-17
Love those who have gender or identity struggles; share Scripture and remind them they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Be an encouragement to those who use vices to fill a void or dull hurts and pains; remind them of God’s love and that in Him they can be made whole. Extend help to those who feel abortion is the only option or for the good of all; point them to the One who gave them life and has wonderful plans for them and their unborn baby.
Be like Christ; demonstrate love, care, and concern. Act because eternity is at stake. Be a living testament of God’s love through your words and actions. Move with passion and compassion for the lost while there is still time.
God bless you! <3
