Fear: A Tactic of the Enemy ~

     “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

     Satan is the father of lies, and since many of our fears are built on lies one of his greatest tactics is to breed fear. When we believe or live according to lies, we are surrendering to the enemy and choosing captivity; this prohibits us from living in the freedom Christ gave us through His work on the cross. Furthermore, when we allow fear to rule, we yield to the enemy and buy the even greater lie that God is not powerful enough to overcome our fears.

     We must remember that the spiritual realm is ever present. Sometimes we forget the power we have through Christ to stand against the attacks of the enemy and fight the lies. Where he is relentless in attempting to cripple us with fear, God desires to reveal His character and His ability to strengthen us. Remember, it says in 2 Timothy, “God has NOT given us a spirit of fear”. In fact, He has equipped us with the very things we need to fight the battle against fear.
