Creation, God’s Handiwork for Our Enjoyment ~

    “In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land.” Psalm 95:4-5

     “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork.” Psalm 19:1

     Whether we prefer mountains, deserts, beaches, forests, or fields, nature has captivated humanity since the beginning of time. I think of explorers throughout the course of history who had the desire to travel to unknown lands to explore the majesty of God’s big and beautiful world.

     How blessed we are to live in a time where it takes hours or days instead of months and years to go to the other side of the world? To live in a time where we only need to ride a bus, train, car, boat, or plane to see and to be in God’s creation. Most of us don’t even have to go much further than our own front door to see insects, flowers, and trees.

     God’s creation speaks in grand ways of the design and power of its Creator. Nature is a powerful testimony of God’s existence. Do you take time when you look at the created world to exalt the One who spoke it into existence? As believers we know that our Lord created this universe for us to enjoy, maintain, and explore. Let’s continue to delight in His creation even as the school year begins again, the weather cools down, and fall steadily approaches.
