Autumn: A Time of Blessings ~

Fall has arrived and with it comes many blessings. Farmers across the U.S. are gathering their crops to sell. The leaves begin to change color and crisp before falling off the soon to be dormant trees. Windy and rainy days will refresh the hot and dry earth. And the days become shorter as the nights grow longer and darker.

In this season there is much to be grateful for, because God designed it as a time of blessings. During fall nature slows down, and we receive the benefits of tending to God’s creation.

In Scripture blessings are compared to harvest time:

Psalm 85:12, “Yes, the Lord will give what is good; and our land will yield its increase.”

Proverbs 3:9-10, “Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the firstfruits of all your increase; so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.”

2 Corinthians 9:10, “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.”

Harvest season is also likened to evangelism. Matthew 9:37-38, “Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.’”

So, during this autumn, remember the biblical comparisons and ponder these things. Is your life producing a bounty of fruit? Are you sowing the Word of God into the lives of others?

God bless you! <3
