A Life Overflowing With Gratitude ~

     “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.” Psalm 100:1-5

     As we are now almost a week into November, the month in which Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, I have decided to focus this month’s posts on the topic of thankfulness. Though marked by gratitude, this holiday should not be the only day in which we express thanks. As Christians we should be able to wake up every day and give thanks to God! At the very least we can praise Him for the breath in our lungs. Though, I am sure the more we reflect on the goodness and faithfulness of God in our lives the more praise will be on our lips.

     Sadly, we, like the Israelites, can be complainers; it’s part of our fallen, human nature. This month I implore you to break the sinful cycle and begin to cultivate a life of thankfulness. Discipline and consistency will establish godly character, so find one thing to be thankful for each day and purpose to thank God for it throughout the day. By Thanksgiving you will have a wellspring of things to be grateful for! Our God is good and desires to give His children good things.
