A Good Steward of Time ~

This month’s topic is being a good steward! I am excited for all God has for us as we dive into what He requires of us as stewards!

“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” -J.R.R. Tolkien

Time flies… trust me even if you don’t feel it now; the time will come when you look back in shock thinking, “Man, I felt I just started ____ school!” Yet, there you are in the last few months of your final year, preparing to graduate.

Though time seems to go faster as we get older, we can still find or make time to do what is most important.  Like Tolkien says, “we have to decide”. So, the claim: “I am too busy for ____” is not quite true after all. You carved out time to watch an episode of that new show; you planned a whole night out with friends; you decided to join that extracurricular activity after school. You have chosen what you want to do in your life. You have made your priorities. When we feel there are things that just don’t fit in our schedule or that we can never get to, we are subconsciously saying, if we are truly honest, that these are things we can live without. They are after all the things we are sacrificing.

It’s not that we can’t have those binge days, or time at the mall with our friends, but what lifestyle are we cultivating?

You may agree that your lifestyle needs better priorities, but you might be asking, “If I drop___, what can I fill that time with that is purposeful?” For that question, the answer is this: read your Bible, study and memorize passages and verses, pray to God till what feels like just religion becomes a relationship, and dive into spiritually challenging books.

I know this is hard and something we each need to refine as the years go on and seasons of our lives look different, but remember, you will NEVER regret making God first!

“So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

Be a good and faithful steward of time!

God bless you! <3
