A Good Steward of Resources (part 1) ~

     During the first semester of my senior year, I took a personal finance class, and it rocked my world. My perspective about material goods has changed drastically. I am now living out the knowledge that there needs to be a godly balance between having material items but living a spiritually full life for the next. I am not calling everyone to live a simplistic life like a monk, but we need a shift in our thinking regarding our possessions. Instead of, “What can I get out of ___?”, consider, “How can I use ____ to honor God and serve others?”

     Awhile back I heard a story of a family who was looking for a car. The wife prayed that God would provide the car they needed to do the ministry God had for them. Hearing this encouraged me that I should submit all I possess to God’s will and purposes, my future vehicle, my home, job, money and whatever else God entrusts to me. When we align our hearts and possessions with God’s will, we will reap the benefits of a spiritually rich life!
